Saying Good-Bye to Story Time
We attended preschool story time at the Northside branch of Herrick District Library nearly every Wednesday morning all summer long. It was a great experience, and ended up being something Tilden even participated in. We read lots of books and even learned some fun songs. The "Let's Go Swimming" song is our current favorite. Check out some other kids enjoying it HERE.
On our last Wednesday before school begins for most of the kiddos, we made ice cream outside. It was super fun! They gave us the ingredients, some ice and salt, and a couple of ziplock bags. It went pretty quickly (with lots of shaking) and it was very tasty. We will miss story time, but we'll be back next summer for sure.
Never saw one like that before
Found this turtle in the driveway and then did a double-take, actually a triple take. Never saw a turtle like that before!
My dad did some research and found out it's an Eastern Box Turtle.
It's actually protected by Michigan law as a special concern species.
To top it off we saw another Eastern Box Turtle when we visited John Ball Zoo this week.
Brighton on the Bus
Brighton did a fun summer school program for a few days. He even went on a couple field trips which included riding the bus a couple times. That honestly ended up being one of the highlights. He is begging to ride the bus to school...we'll see.

18 Months
Tilden Jo is 18 months old. I put her in a nice outfit in order to snap some outdoor pics, but this is what we ended up with: a garage photo shoot. Til was on the run with her pipey and her clothes ended up covered in sidewalk chalk dust. This is soooooo our Tily Jo.
18 Months Doctor Visit:
- 32 inches tall (48% growth percentile)
- 23 pounds and 8 ounces (58% growth percentile)
Swimming Even Though....
Brighton has been a swimming sensation even though it has been a tad bit chilly around here. Thanks goes to Jon for swimming with him. On this occasion they even swam quite far from "home."

Cottagecation: The Jackpot
Brighton hit the jackpot on a silly game at Craig's Cruisers.
