It was Brighton's first time participating in the pinewood derby car race. This is a tradition in many churches through the Cadet's program. Brighton and Jon left lots of room for improvement because Brighton won the turtle car category. You wouldn't know it by the smile on his face, but Brighton's pinewood derby car was the slowest car in all of Ottawa and Allegan County. Geesh. Brighton was thrilled he got a first place trophy. I'm not sure he totally gets it, or maybe he just doesn't care. Jon is a Cadet counselor, so we're hoping for improvement next year.

Idita-READ

Brighton read 1100 minutes during the last couple months participating in the Idita-READ (yes, kinda like the Iditarod Race). Way to go, Brighton!
