I missed a day

After lots of careful consideration I decided to travel and leave Brighton this past week. We were gone for a few days, but I didn't see him at all on only one day. Brighton spent a couple days with Grandpa & Grandma Walcott, and Jon was super Dad at night. It was tough, but I traveled to the Ann Arbor Art Fair and then on to the annual Nordstrom sale in Troy. The combination of these two awesome events is an annual outing with family and friends. We had a great time, and I did okay missing my boys...mostly the little one...sorry Jon.

I ended up not buying a thing at the Ann Arbor Art Fair because it was so hot that my shopping abilities were horribly affected. It was miserable hot. We couldn't enjoy it, and trust me I usually really enjoy it. We were there only for a few hours and decided to skip some sections. We headed to the air conditioned mall early.

We were much more successful there. If you know me, you know I love Nordstrom. This department store is great all year, but their sale is amazing. You can shop it online if you're interested. What is so special about their annual sale is that there are great deals on merchandise for this coming fall - new stuff just out. I don't know any other sale like it.

I didn't really buy clothes for myself because I'm hoping to slim down a bit more before it's time to wear fall clothes, but that didn't slow me down. Shoes, clothes for Jon, clothes for Bright, make-up...yahoo! It was a blast even though it was tough to leave home.

Trany

Trany. Rhymes with granny. Short for tranmission.

Jon spends a lot of time fixing transmissions. We are on the other end of things now. Jon is usually helping others with their transmissions, but now he needs to help us. I'm without a car and have been since last weekend. We actually had to have it towed from Silver Lake back to Grand Haven. The trany is busted. The tough part about it is that it shouldn't have broken according to Jon. There aren't near enough miles on it to explain it breaking. Oh well. I know a good mechanic. He'll take good care of me and my car. I'm hoping to have it back this week good as new.

Bright's Birth Announcement

Below is Bright's birth announcement. I sent one to many of you, but I thought I would share it here as well. I was thinking of doing something like this myself because I have been dabbling in digital scrapbooking, but due to my extended stay in the hospital I decided to just pay someone to make it for me. Our announcement is from Sweet Baby Designs. They do photo birth announcements like this one as well as invitations and holiday greetings. I was thrilled with the design, the service, the communication, and the finished product. It ended up being quite easy which I really needed at that time. Enjoy!
