The Walcott Open

It's an annual Walcott event, and for the last couple years, it has been the only time Jon has played golf. He didn't win, but he had a great time, and he did win best dressed - go figure.

Rodeo with the Walcotts

The Walcott family all went to the rodeo Friday night at the Double JJ Ranch. Yes, this is the same place that has been in the news quite a bit lately due to the huge music festival last month and also their unfortunate financial situation.

Friday night we all met there and started with an all-you-can-eat pig roast and all the fixings. We all thought it was great food, and our niece, Reina, did too.

The rodeo had everything from bull riding to barrel racing. It was really quite impressive. They also did a great job of getting the audience involved, our nephew, Braden, chased little cows with ribbons on their tails. That's him with the Michigan jersey on.

The Walcott brothers did not disappoint; they formed a team in the Wild Ass Ride competition. That's right, it was a donkey, my husband, and his brothers working their way to the finish line. They tried really hard, but they lost.

We had a GREAT time, and we highly recommend this to family and friends.

Brighton met Upper Silver Lake up close this week.

He loves it, but he isn't so sure about the sunglasses yet :)

The Texans

Our cousins from Texas visited us for a few days at the cottage. Huge fun!
