Fall Break in Frankenmuth

We headed to Zehnders for a fall getaway.  It's a waterpark just a couple hours away, and they had fun Halloween activities for the kids.  Oh, did I mention Birch Run outlets too?  The kids swam, played in the arcade, did crafts, and trick 'r' treated throughout the hotel. Frankenmuth has a lot to offer on its own.  We should've stayed longer because we hardly wanted to leave the hotel.

In case you're considering a visit yourself, they just opened up a HUGE addition to their waterpark (a week after we went).  We look forward to visiting again to check this out. 

We Grew Two

Our garden didn't do very well this year thanks to a giant woodchuck.  Seriously, I never new they got so big.  I don't think I ever really even saw one before.  I'm not a fan.  
That stinker was living the high life eating both our garden and our neighbor's.  He lived in ours too, so there was a huge burrow underneath; our garden didn't have a chance. 
Our neighbor eventually took care of it and even excitedly sent us this proof picture, but it was just too late for most of our garden.  
Except for two (yes, only two) mid-size pumpkins.  They were just perfect for our kids. 

Chicago Sans Kids

...to celebrate a big year for my parents (big birthdays & a big anniversary).  

We did some shopping.

Boys did a Chicago Beer Tour.

Had a couple awesome meals.

Rode the elevator with Al Sharpton, then with members of the Charlotte Hornets.

Bought the kiddos some popcorn.

Can we do that again?
