I couldn't help but sing "Let's Go Fly a Kite" this weekend because that's exactly what we did. It was a first for our family, and I must say it's not as easy as it looks especially when wind conditions aren't exactly perfect. A $1.99 Elmo special provided quite a bit of entertainment until a gust of wind ripped apart our $1.99 special. Guess we all know why it was $1.99 huh? Yes, we now need a new kite, and I plan on spending a bit more next time.

Love kites! That open field at the cottage is the perfect place to kite fly. Also, the dunes could be fun as well. You might get a lot of wind by the big lake (maybe too much!). If you're looking into a new kite and you're in Grand Haven, my Aunt Elaine works at the Mackinac Kite Co. in downtown.
We'll for sure head to a kite shop this time. Glad to know there will be a friendly face in GH or I think there is a shop in Pentwater too.
